I tried installing Scrapy library using the command:
This was inside Python 2.7 virtualenv, and then tried creating a scrapy project:
scrapy startproject myawesomebot
But that gave series of errors one after another, something like:
No module named lxml.html
No module named cryptography.hazmat.bindings.openssl.binding
x86_64-linux-gnu-gcc failed with exit status 1
and so on…
So, I had to install the following Ubuntu packages and modules:
sudo apt-get install python-dev libffi-dev libssl-dev libxml2-dev libxslt1-dev
pip install twisted w3lib libxml cssselect pyOpenSSL service-identity
Then I was able to successfully start a scrapy project with the command “scrapy starproject myawesomebot”. This was done on a fresh Ubuntu 14.04 installation.
QOwn Notes is an open source cross-platform simple note taking application that that is available for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. It supports markdown syntax and offers a Markdown preview mode. It is the best alternative to ResophNotes and Nvpy.
The core workflow of QOwnNotes is very simple:
- Ctrl + N creates a new note with current timestamp added.
- Type your text, it auto saves as you type.
- If you are typing Markdown Syntax then toggling edit mode (Ctrl + E) shows Markdown preview.
- To search for a note, just type in your search term. It highlights text matching search terms.
It saves files in simple txt format. And by using Markdown syntax you always have your notes available in an open format rather than some proprietary format that might not offer export option.
A special feature of QOwnNotes is its ability to sync with OwnCloud Notes. So notes can easily be edited and searched on mobile device or Own Cloud web interface.
It is under very active development and the author release updates every few weeks with enhancements and bug fixes.
While installing Magento on WAMP, an error might pop up during installation:
PHP extension "curl" must be loaded.
Even though curl extension is enabled from the WAMP icon in System tray, it might not work in Windows 7 or Windows 8 64 bit version. To fix it, first edit the following files:
File php.ini: C:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.22\bin\php.ini
File php.ini: C:\wamp\\bin\php\php5.3.13\php.ini
File phpForApache.ini: C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.3.13\phpForApache.ini
Edit all those files, search for “curl” and uncomment the line by removing semicolon in front of it:
Now, download the appropriate curl extension for you PHP version:
Replace the file at C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.4.3\ext\\php_curl.dll with the downloaded one. Restart WAMPServer.
This issue was resolved in WAMPServer 2.2 on WIndows 7 x64 bit and Windows 8 x64 bit.
Windows 8 doesn’t have the good old Start button. Microsoft left their dedicated desktop users in the lurch because it doesn’t provide any option to bring back the Start button and menu. That’s where vendors like Samsung come in. An app called Quick Starter released by Samsung intends to provide a replacement for the Start Button in Windows 8.
In addition to Start button and menu, Quick Starter provides a dock where additional category buttons can be created. Shortcuts, folders, files can be dropped onto these categories for easy access.
